The Cabinet Nerd
Inspired by the distinctly American Prairie style architectural movement that emerged in Chicago around 1900, Jamie the Cabinet Nerd blends my hearty Midwest soul with Dallas design excellence.

Through my dedication to offering online kitchen design services and personalized kitchen space planning, Jamie the Cabinet Nerd mirrors the Prairie principle of tailored, human-centered spaces, making sophisticated kitchen cabinetry design accessible and engaging for every homeowner, remodeler, and interior designer who shares my appreciation for form fused with function.

With 20 years of experience in kitchen design and working in different locations like Chicago and Dallas, I have observed differences between factory-finished cabinetry and jobsite-finished cabinetry, also known as "Texas Custom".
As a Cabinetry Sales & Design expert for 5 specialty retail showrooms, I have spent the majority of my career educating homeowners, interior designers, and remodelers about the subtle details that differentiate a good cabinet from a great cabinet.
I believe that the details are what make the difference, and that I can design a better custom kitchen using factory cabinets than a "custom Texas guy" any day.
The
Story
The Promise
In each and every kitchen space plan and kitchen cabinetry design I promise to:
Continue learning and researching.
Do it right, especially when no one is looking.
Apply the Principles and Elements of Design.
Do what I say I'm going to do.
Use the right product for your project; not my pocket book.
Build community over competition.
The Why
To build a work life balance that supports growing and learning after a major life change so that I can be a healthy, strong, confident role model and lead the way for my kiddo.
To physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially support our family, our household, our adventures, experiences and opportunities through kitchen space planning and kitchen cabinetry design that is meaningful to others and fulfilling to my soul.

That's why I am Jamie the Cabinet Nerd.
